Large Solid Bronze Religious/Monastery Table Bell with Gilt Patina depicting the names of the 4 Apostles in Latin/Marcus Johannis Lucas Matheus, finely chiseled with their respective animal motifs - Each of the four evangelists is associated with one of the living creatures, usually depicted with wings. The most common, but not only, association is: Mark the King, the Lion; Luke the humble Servant, the Ox; Matthew the Angel; and John the Eagle - Very fine bell with a beautiful shiny patina, finely chiseled with leafy motifs/acanthus scrolls and fleurs-de-lis on the top of the bell - Beautiful long and resounding bell ringing - Dimensions/Height 15 cm. Base diameter 12 cm. Net weight 1 kg 425. Very good condition
