large oil on canvas board signed FORDAN (Daniel Fort 1937-2017) - painter and illustrator (ARTPRICE rating,...) 15P format (65x50 cm) a dedication on the back of the artist in good condition shipped by MONDIALRELAY Originally from Champagne, Daniel FORT known as FORDAN began studying drawing and painting at the School of Fine Arts in Troyes at a very young age before joining the Académie Julian, the Montparnasse school, the Grande Chaumière and the free courses of Fine Arts in Paris. In 1960, he was an illustrator then responsible for the production of books and school cards at Editions MDI (design, photoengraving and printing). In 1975, he took on the status of a liberal profession as a painter-illustrator (books and advertising). Parisian publishers will direct him towards classic authors such as Honoré de Balzac (22 volumes), Emile Zola (the Rougon-Macquart), Victor Hugo (25 volumes), Gustave Flaubert, Dumas, Maupassant… In Provence, he rediscovers the itinerary of Alphonse Daudet to illustrate “Les lettres de mon moulin” at the NLF Publisher. Using oil paint and watercolor, he opens a studio in Villennes-sur-Seine but also unfolds his easel on the ground and paints the province and its landscapes in the four corners of France. He is recognized as a teacher of private and municipal courses and opens a studio in 1986 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. He will have fun with “La physiologie du goût” by Brillat Savarin (SGED) by illustrating it with “tasty” watercolors. Type:Oil Characteristics:Signed Theme:Still life
