Large Cylindrical Vase in Old Moorish blown glass.
Superb blown glass vase from the old Moorish Vieil glassworks
the production of “Verriers de Maure-Vieil” focused mainly on glass paste and work on stratified mineral textures, as close as possible to its direct environment.
The intriguing history of glassmaking fully contributes to the charm of the pieces that come from it.
Located on a natural cirque surrounded by wild nature, in the middle of the Caldera (south of France), Maure Vieil is made up of:
• a chapel with modernist and eccentric architecture
• but also a New Age fitness center.
• to which is added the glassware of Maure-vieil.
The Old Maure Glassworks was built in the 1960s.
It closed its doors in the 1990s, leaving a building abandoned since that day.
the Vase is quite rare and in very good condition, no cracks or chips
Produced in the 60s/70s, this piece is composed of a dominant Light Beige color, with Brown Gray marbling.
Golden metallic inclusions are also present in the texture of the glass tab.
This mineral aspect is typical of glasswork, whose master glassmaker was Bob le Bleis.
Craftsmanship, high quality. Superb decorative piece or collection
The Maure Vieil stamp (interlaced M and V) is found sealed under the glassware.
I have a collection of 7 pieces from the Maure Vieille workshops.
These pieces are visible in my other ads
