This hand painted Dutch jar was designed and produced by Delft in Holland from around 1960 to 1969.
Throughout its history the jar must have fallen and completely broken. It was then carefully glued back together piece by piece, then transformed into a lamp base.
The original electrification still works.
The discreet cracks give the piece a delicate evanescent beauty.
The history and the care taken to safeguard the object accentuate the value of its history.
No part is missing, and the ceramic is completely united.
