The decor is rich, representing scenes of life related to trade. The interior accommodates another finely decorated pewter box. However, you will notice a deformation at the level of the cover. The box is in lacquered wood, it presents 5 scenes of life in relation to the trade. the paintings are framed by bamboo friezes with medallions with a text. The back of the lid is in black lacquer with golden vegetable decoration. You will notice gaps, friction and wear. These colors have remained fresh, it remains in a more than adequate condition. For the provenance, the legend in kanji for me it is difficult to know if it is Japanese or Chinese. In any case, I recognize 2 in Japanese they have a relation with the trade: "hyakuen" for the hundred (ex: ni hyakuen yen 200 yen) and "kaimono" or "kaimasu" to make purchases or the verb to buy.
