ENGRAVING 17TH IMAGE PIEUSE IODOCVS IODOCUS MARTEN MAERTEN MAARTEN MARTIN DE VOS AFTER JOHANN SADELER (THE OLD) AND RAPHAEL SADELER THIS ENGRAVING DOES NOT BE SIGNATURED Maarten de Vos, Maerten de Vos, Martin de Vos or Marten de Vos born in 1532 in Antwerp, where he died on December 4, 1603, was a Flemish painter of religious, allegorical, historical and portrait subjects.He was, with the brothers Ambrosius Francken the old and Frans Francken the old, one of the main painters history of the Spanish Netherlands after the collapse of Frans Floris' career in the second half of the 16th century, as a result of the iconoclastic fury Fury (Dutch: Beeldenstorm). De Vos was a prolific draftsman and produced many designs for Antwerp printers. These designs were widely distributed in Europe and the colonies and contributed to his international reputation and influence. His designs were also used as models for tapestries and stained-glass windows.Johan Sadeler (1550 - August 1600), Hans, Johann, Johannes, Joan, Jean, Jan Sadeler or Jan Sadeler the elder, is a Flemish engraver illustrator, first of a famous family of engravers.
