GOUACHE STENCIL BY LEON HAFFNER BOAT IN THE STORM 20TH A4825This stencil gouache is made by Léon Haffner, it is from the 20th century, beautifully crafted. It has the signature of Léon Haffner with its navy anchor. It was probably made in the 70s or 80s. The frame is later. Léon Haffner (1881-1972) appointed official painter of the navy in 1918. This painter has a fairly considerable work, indeed he produced oils, but especially gouaches, drawings, many stencils, illustrations of countless books. We can compare some works of Haffner to the art of photography, he used photography simultaneously with some works. Haffner gave movement to the photos. The work is in a good state of conservation, we point out for the most picky, a minimal lack on the frame at the bottom right and two small lacks of paint, everything is visible in our photos.
