GOUACHE ON VELUM REPRESENTING MARIE MADELEINE EARLY 18TH FRAME TIME M1312 This gouache on vellum represents Marie-Madeleine. She from the very beginning of the 18th century, the frame is also from the period with a pretty gilding. This work has been preserved by time. She is fresh in color. It does not have a signature, but it is a pretty hand that made this Marie-Madeleine. There is an inscription on the back. No half measures for Marie-Madeleine. Her taste for luxury and the world, her unbridled libertinism, her rebelliousness towards conventions made her despise good people. Radically turned around by Christ, her gratitude is inexhaustible: she has found the One whom her heart loves, she will follow him wherever he goes. It is she who throws herself at the feet of her Lord and perfumes them with perfume before the dumbfounded Pharisees. First to sense the Passion and death of Jesus in this way, she will be the first to announce his Resurrection to the doubting apostles. A fiery temperament, she lived her last thirty years alone in a cave, recluse in contemplation of Love. The work is natural, untouched. The defects remain minimal, the work is in a superb state of preservation. We report a run on the arm and the vase visible in the photos. The colors remained fresh. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Frame Height: 25 cm Width: 22 cm Thickness: 3.7 cm Gouache Height: 14.5 cm Width: 11.3 cm P: 1042956 I remain at your disposal for any questions.
