Historical context:
Prussia was originally a territory in northeastern Europe that was partly Germanized under the control of the Teutonic Knights, but located outside the Holy Roman Empire. In the 16th century, Prussia became the possession of a branch of the Hohenzollerns, and was then united with the Electorate of Brandenburg (the Berlin region) in the 17th century. From 1701 to 1871, Prussia was an essential element of the Kingdom of Prussia, incorporated into the German Empire in 1871 (the Second German Reich). In this context, the original Prussia corresponded to the province of East Prussia, particularly after the First World War, when it found itself isolated from the rest of Germany.

The whole has aged well and evenly. The blade is in good condition with a sharp edge. Control hallmarks present on the heel of the blade: '' 880 '' + '' D + Crown '' + '' Marking on the scabbard ''. Handle in grooved steel, very massive and solid, without play. The tip of the blade is square, probably medical or red cross (?). Very beautiful and rare piece, in superb condition of preservation. Very rare in this condition, 100% original guaranteed. Very pleasant to hold in your hands and even more to observe in a display case!
