FRAME FLAMAND or ITALY XVII EME GUILLOCHE LUMINURE DECOR OF FOLIAGE I3 This frame is from late XVI -th or early XVIIth century. Probably Flemish, it is a guilloché decoration with golden illuminations, decorated with foliage. You can admire the finesse, the decor, the quality and the precision. The moldings are obviously in wood, the guilloché decoration is very beautifully made, very precise. There are gaps as you can see, especially in the angles, inside the frame, traces of old cossons (treated so nothing prohibitive), missing angles, scratches, wear and friction. It probably contained a copper paint. The most boring being the guilloché baguettes. It is very beautifully crafted, it is mounted on an imposing oak panel. The weight is important.
