ENGRAVING XVII EME JEAN BAPTISTE VERDUC FRAME OF THE PERIOD DREVET CHARPENTIER M48 This engraving is XVII, and its frame is original.It represents the portrait of Jean Baptiste Verduc doctor of medicine out of age of 28 years. Jean-Baptiste Verduc was born in Toulouse. Doctor of medicine, he would have been a "man full of candor and charity". We owe him many works edited and reissued several times between 1693 and 1727: the Traite des Opérations de Surgery, a New Osteology, the Pathology of Surgery, the Master of Surgery… This portrait was engraved by Pierre Drevet for the book in-octavo published in 1693 by Laurent d'Houry: The operations of surgery. Printer Eugene Charpentier. You will notice that a XVIIth frame comes to marry this superb engraving.The margin has not been calculated for this frame, hence the irregularities that can be seen in particular the posterior cardboard.The frame is XVIIth with a very beautiful patina we guarantee the seniority.Lack to report on the frame small slits, on the engravings some traces of pitting and lack of margin.Charpentier (Painter), active approximately 1700?
