ENGRAVING LE SUNSET MONUMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND MORAL COSTUME OF THE END OF THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY ANTHONY JEAN DUCLOSDE JOHANN HEINRICH EBERTSSIGMUND FREUDENBERGER 18th GR DESPLACES LOUIS BOSSEDENIS CHARLES BULDET A4018 This engraving is "Jde The XVIIIth century" is engraved by Coumund. etching by Louis Desplaces and finished with a burin by Louis Bosse. The work is part of a series entitled "Monument of Physical and Moral Costume of the End of the Eighteenth Century" Jean-Henri Eberts, born in 1726 and died in 1793, was a French banker, art dealer and engraver.In the 1770s, Eberts was well aware of the importance of fashion design in Paris and of the international influence it exerted. He imagines creating a series of prints, intended for the collection, describing in annual deliveries the sartorial fashion, the living environment and the occupations of the elegant Parisians he meets on a daily basis. He designed twelve scenes following the course of a coquette's day, wrote the texts and entrusted the making of the engravings to the young Sigmund Freudenberger, known as Freudeberg. The First Suite of Prints to serve the history of customs and costume in France in the 18th century was published in 1775.
