19th C. ENGRAVING PIO SEXTO PONT MAX BY JOANNES VOLPATO GIOVANNI VOLPATO INCENDIO DI BORGO L. INCENDIE DU BOURG RAPHAEL M1130This interpretation engraving entitled "Pio Sexto Pont Max" is based on a painting by Bernadino Nocchi and engraved by Joannes Volpato. Volpato, 1735-1803) Italian engraver who was also an entrepreneur (manufacture of porcelain figurines) and dealer in antiquities following the first archaeological excavations in Rome. Bernardino Nocchi (1741-1812) Italian Baroque and Neoclassical painter active in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. For the state, we report black spots, freckles, the paper is yellowed in various places, small tears and a hole on the edge, folds and creases on the edge and the angles, friction and micro- scratches on the engraving, however it remains in a decent state of preservation.
