ENGRAVING BY CAMILLE COROT SOUVENIR OF TUSCANY   ENGRAVED BY AUGUSTE ANASTASIE IMPRIMERIE BERTAUTS   Camille Corot Camille Corot, born Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot on July 16, 1796 in Paris1 where he died on February 22, 1875, is a French painter and engraver. For a long time he was considered an amateur painter who had plenty of time to travel not only throughout France, but also to Italy, where he resided three times. During his wanderings, he never stopped painting idyllic landscapes, generally filled with small figures, according to the rules of classical landscape. Known for his philanthropy, he is also one of the founders of the Barbizon school. Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot was born on July 16, 17962 at number 125 rue du Bac, in Paris. Corot came from a family of wealthy traders: his mother, Marie Françoise Corot (1768-1851), née Oberson, was the daughter of a Swiss from the Palace of Versailles, and his father, Jacques Louis Corot (1771-1847) , had inherited his father-in-law's wig shop5 before working alongside his wife. The Corots became fashion merchants and ran a renowned boutique, on the corner of Rue du Bac and Quai Voltaire, in Paris, notably supplying the Duchess of Orléans during the Restoration. The Corots had two other children, Annette Octavie (1793-1874) and Victoire Anne (1797-1821) who lived on the floor above the store. Auguste Anastasi Auguste Anastasi1, born in Paris on November 15, 1820, and died in Paris 17th on March 15, 18892, is a French landscape painter of the Barbizon School. Grave in the Père-Lachaise cemetery. Auguste Anastasi is a student of Paul Delaroche and Jean-Baptiste Corot. He entered the Paris School of Fine Arts on May 5, 1849 and debuted at the Salon of 1843. He obtained a 2nd class medal at the Salon of 1848 for a landscape, and a 3rd class medal at the Salon of 1865 for a lithography. He painted landscapes around Paris, Normandy, Holland or Italy, in Rome and especially in Naples, but also in Tyrol, of which he also made lithographs. Auguste Anastasi collaborates as a lithographer for the magazines L'Artiste and Les Artistes contemporains. He lithographed works after Rosa Bonheur, Corot, Isabey and Théodore Rousseau. Afflicted by blindness from 1860, he stopped painting after 1870. His colleagues then organized a lottery whose profits were converted into an annuity; after his death, this annuity will be allocated to an indigent artist designated by the Academy of Fine Arts. For the condition, note small oxidation stains and halos, pitting, slight creasing from handling, traces of folding in places, small missing, micro-tears.... Our numerous photos allow you to appreciate the quality of engraving. For the condition, please detail the photos. The photos are an integral part of the description.
