ENGRAVING XVIII EME FR D EMMANUEL PINTO BY J DAULLE FRAME STUC M478 This engraving represents FR. D EMMANUEL PINTO, and it was engraved by J. DAULLE graveur du Roy in 1744. Jean Daullé, born May 18, 1703 in Abbeville and died April 23, 1763 (at 59) in Paris, is a French engraver. Titled “engraver of the king”, Daullé trained the future Parisian publisher and printmaker, Pierre-François Basan, in the art of engraving, as well as Jean-Georges Wille. Unfortunately it has stains, bites in several places especially in the margins, small friction and light wear on the engraving. The frame is in stucco, probably later, early 19th century, it is very rugged. The engraving is natural, in its own juice with its original background.
