Jean-Jacques Audubon (1785-1851) was an American ornithologist, naturalist and painter of French origin, naturalized in 1812, considered the first ornithologist of the New World. This is a color print, here are the inscriptions that we can read "Drawn from Nature by J.-J. Audubon FRS FLS, Roseate Spoonbill, Couëron, city of childhood of Jean-Jacques Audubon, Engraved printed and couloured by R. Havell 1836, Editions du Désastre". The frame is gilded, from the same period. Everything is in good general condition. We report a few small scratches on the frame, nothing serious.
