Jean-Jacques Audubon (1785-1851) was an American ornithologist, naturalist and painter of French origin, naturalized in 1812, considered the first ornithologist of the New World. This is a color print, here are the inscriptions that we can read “Drawn from Nature by J.-J. Audubon FRS FLS, Couëron, childhood town of Jean-Jacques Audubon, Louisiane Heron, Engraved printed and couloured by R. Havell 1834, Editions du Désastre”. The frame is gilded, from the same period. Everything is in good general condition. We report a few small scratches on the frame, nothing serious. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object.
