COUNTER ROLLER TURNSTILE BACKGROUND BISTRO YOUNG GIRL DOG XIXTH M794Here is an authentic and old counter roulette from the 19th century. It consists of a cast iron part and a miniature which seems to us to be fixed under glass, without certainty, it could also be an enhanced engraving. We have not opened the thumbnail. Everything is authentic and old. It represents a young girl holding a small dog. Roulette was placed on the counters of French bistros during the second half of the 19th century. Despite the prohibition of money bets within their establishments, the tenants paid the possible winnings of the players under the nose and the beard of the police. This roulette wheel is in used condition, it is a charming object. We report friction, scratches and patina wear on the base and the foot, scratches on the bottom and verdigris on the bronze part of the wheel. Note also pitting on the paint and dirt on the inside of the glass, a small element allowing the wheel to turn has probably been glued. However this object remains in a general state suitable for an article of the XIXth century. The caster weighs a weight of 1.7 kilograms. Sold untouched, unrestored. For the state thank you for detailing our many photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description.
