Calender board. Instrument used by women to cold iron damp clothes after washing. This ironing technique appeared around 1550 in Eastern Europe. The wet fabric is wrapped around a wooden cylinder and ironed under the pressure of a handle board which causes the roller to move back and forth. Smooth and taut, place on a flat surface, the laundry could dry without wrinkles. Beautiful and rare board which can be diverted from its original use. It's up to you to invent a new life for it.
