Description

Bronze subject representing a bear by G. Gardet Brown nuanced patina H6174This subject was made by G. Gardet. Georges Gardet (1863-1939) is a French animal sculptor whose sculpture differs from that of his predecessors: indeed, Gardet renews the materials traditionally used by animal artists. He not only produces plasters, which will often be translated into bronze, but his preference goes to rich materials such as ivory or polychrome marble; several of his sculptures are also the subject of replicas in Sèvres biscuit. Thus breaking with a tradition made essentially of bronzes, he opens his art to the decorative and to the object of art. The bear is powerful with a very beautiful original nuanced brown patina. The subject bears his signature G. Gardet and the number 2331 on the side, it is plinth on a red marble from Langue doc. For the state, we report some patina wear, however this subject is in a good state of conservation. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Height: 18 cm Diameter: 12 cm S: KYK5DDG3P: 1095691 I remain at your disposal for any questions.
