Jean-Pierre Mateus, master glassmaker, is based in Lachapelle at the craftsmen's house in Bernard Rougie's building at the entrance to La Capelle. Aged 43, he imagines and transforms the material in fusion with his hands, encrusts colored glass, inclusions of gold and silver leaf. He is in perpetual research and regularly launches artistic challenges, which he takes up before moving on to a new challenge. What we do today is only valid today, explains the craftsman.
