Description

White porcelain cake server made by the Gien factory in the 1960s.

The Gien Pottery Factory was created in 1821 in Gien in the Loire Valley, in the heart of France, its two-hundred-year-old history is linked to the name of its creator, the Englishman Thomas Hall.
Hall settled in Gien and bought the enclosure and buildings of the Minimes convent located on the banks of the Loire, because the city is full of raw materials (clays, sands, siliceous pebbles from the Loire) and above all the Loire allows the transport of wood from the forests of Orléans for the cooking ovens.

It comes in the form of 2 white porcelain plates decorated with a floral motif and a golden border on the edge, they are fixed on a beautifully shaped brass rod with sculpted leaves, it forms a ring on the top allowing the server to be grasped to present it. This servant is in very good condition, each plate is engraved below the manufacture, garnished with biscuits, it will be very appreciated by your guests around a coffee or a good chocolate because of its condition, its art deco style and its beautiful colors.
