Automobile Mascot Sculpted in 1919 by Frédérick BazinHispano Suiza Stork Numbered 184 Letter HS intertwined in silvered or nickel-plated bronze H5263This silvered or nickel-plated bronze mascot was made by François Bazin. It bears the number 184 below, as well as the interlaced letters HS. The marble base was added later, but goes perfectly with this mascot. For the state, note small classic depressions on the metal and traces of wear on the patina. However, everything remains in generally acceptable general condition. François Bazin (1897-1956) is a French sculptor and medalist, contacted after the war by the Hispano Suiza Company to create the radiator cap for their future automobiles. Between 1920 and 1935, François Bazin created a large number of automobile radiator caps: Cigogne (1920, Hispano Suiza), head of a Mangbetu Woman (Croisière Noire de Citroën), Triomphe (Isotta Fraschini), elephant's head (Latil ), Centaur (Unic), Unicorn (the Unicorn).
