Description

Unique ceramic stoneware teapot made at the Serremorizot workshop, located in Callian in the Var region. This piece, inspired by Asian art, features an abstract decor with a motif representing a man taking a break in nature.
*
The artists of the Serremorizot workshop, active since 1975, draw their inspiration from the nature surrounding their workshop, nestled in a bucolic setting. Their work is distinguished by exceptional quality, particularly in the enamels and abstract paintings, easily recognizable in the world of stoneware. Each creation is unique, regularly textured, organic, and playful, with characters or sometimes animals, with delicate details and singular shapes. Their choice of colors is always imbued with poetry.
*
This teapot, rounded in shape, well flared and widened on the sides, is distinguished by a large curved and worked handle. The lid, topped with a small cone, gives the whole an Asian touch. The blue tones and pale shades of the paint, mixed with the natural color of the clay, bring a softness and serenity to this piece. It is hand-signed, in the hollow, on the reverse side of the teapot, with the distinctive symbol of the workshop.
*
This work embodies the essence of French artisanal design. There is a small chip on the enamel, under the lid and below the spout (see photo). Although this may seem regrettable, these imperfections remain discreet once the teapot is placed on a table. We must not forget that this is a unique piece of French craftsmanship, which deserves a special place in our interiors.
