Pierre D'avesn is one of the most recognized molded glass designers of the Art Deco period

He started at the age of 14, at René Lalique for 10 years.
During this period, he designed the famous Lalique "Serpent" vase as well as the "Tourbillons" vase,
two of Lalique's most expensive and collected pieces.
In 1926, he left René Lalique and created his own models. His pieces were made by the Cristallerie de Saint-Rémy. In 1930, Daum Frères asked him to take over the Artistic Direction of their molded glass department in their glassworks in Croismare,
which he did until the famous strikes of 1936. In 1937, he took over the management of Verlys until the First World War in 1940.
From 1940, he worked on his own. His pieces were manufactured by the Cristallerie de Choisy-le-Roi (Sèvres),
certainly the most important French glassmaker for molded glass art pieces with René Lalique and Sabino.
