Art Deco Bronze by Ghanu Gantcheff 1930 man and antelope M2542 This Art Deco period subject was made by Ghanu Gantcheff (1898-1950), it is a bronze with a brown patina with green nuances on a black marble carrier. This bronze bears the signature of the author plus the bronze marking. Ghanu Gantcheff (1898-1950) is a sculptor born in Kazanlik in Bulgaria he moved to Paris in the 1920s and made some chryselephantine statuettes in the Art Deco style for the Arthur Goldscheider image foundry. In 1930, he participated in Paris in the Salon of the Society of French Artists with his work Pudique (in German Bescheiden). The work is entitled "The Antelope Hunter", it represents an antelope tamed by a man. It is in superb condition, we report a tiny white spot on the marble.
