Superb Belgian Civil Guard non-commissioned officer's saber M 1850, copied from the French M 1845 model. Fluted chrome-plated steel hilt. The blade is still beautiful and shiny, with some traces of age, in its original condition. Blade marked: "ACIER EXTRA COUPANT LE FER", "MANUFACTURE D'ÉQUIPEMENTS MILITAIRES AUGUSTE FONSON RUE DES FABRIQUES BRUXELLES". Also marked on the heel: "F.H." A truly unique saber, impossible to find in this condition and so complete. A similar example can be seen in the Royal Army Museum in Brussels, very rare!!!
